Pre-Test Instructions
Please note that a duly filled Consent form for HIV testing and Pre-test counselling (Form 10 & 10A) is mandatory before undergoing the test.
Sample Type and Turnaround Time
Sample collection involves:
- 6 mL (3 mL min.) whole blood in 2 Lavender Top (EDTA) tubes
- 2 mL (1 mL min.) plasma from 1 Grey Top (Sodium Fluoride) tube
- 3 mL (1.5 mL min.) serum from 1 SST
- 10 mL (5 mL min.) aliquot of random urine
Samples should be shipped refrigerated and must not be frozen.
The turnaround time for this test is that samples collected by 9 AM will have results available the next day.
