Sample Collection Instructions
For accurate results, the following samples are required:
- 6 mL (3 mL min.) whole blood in 1 Yellow Top (ACD) tube
- 9 mL (6 mL min.) serum from 3 SST’s
- 4 mL (2 mL min.) whole blood in 1 Lavender top (EDTA) tube
- 4 mL (2 mL min.) whole blood in 1 Green Top (Sodium Heparin) tube
It is recommended to collect specimens preferably 48 hours after dialysis and ship at 18°C to 22°C. Please do not refrigerate or freeze the samples. A doctor’s prescription on letterhead, along with one photograph each of the recipient and donor, duly stamped, and a consent form for HLA Typing for Solid organ transplant (Form 33) is mandatory.
