Immunophenotyping By Flow Cytometry CD45 Test
Introduction to Immunophenotyping
The Immunophenotyping By Flow Cytometry CD45 Test is a sophisticated diagnostic tool used primarily in the field of oncology and hematology. This test plays a critical role in identifying and classifying various blood cells, particularly in patients suspected of having cancer. By analyzing the expression of the CD45 marker, healthcare professionals can gain valuable insights into the types and subtypes of cells present in a patient’s blood or bone marrow.
What the Test Measures
This test specifically measures the presence and abundance of the CD45 antigen on leukocytes (white blood cells). CD45 is a critical marker for differentiating between various types of blood cells, which is essential in diagnosing conditions such as leukemia and lymphoma.
Who Should Consider This Test
Patients who exhibit symptoms such as unexplained fatigue, recurrent infections, or abnormal blood counts should consider the Immunophenotyping By Flow Cytometry CD45 Test.
