Oncomine Acute Myeloid Leukaemia AML Panel Test
Introduction
The Oncomine Acute Myeloid Leukaemia AML Panel Test is a cutting-edge diagnostic tool designed to detect genetic mutations that are pivotal in the diagnosis and treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). This test leverages Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of multiple genes associated with AML, thereby aiding in personalized treatment strategies.
What the Test Measures
This test measures a range of genetic mutations and fusion genes associated with AML, including but not limited to:
- ABL1, ASXL1, BCOR, BAALC, CBL, CEBPA
- DNMT3A, EZH2, ETV6, FLT3, GATA2
- HRAS, IDH1, IDH2, IKZF1, JAK2
- KIT, KRAS, MYD88, MYC, MECOM
- NRAS, NPM1, NF1, PHF6, PPRF8
- PTPN11, RUNX1, SF3B1, SRSF2, SMC1A
- SH2B3, STAG2, TET2, TP53, U2AF1
- WT1, ZRSR2
Additionally, it identifies fusion genes such as ABL1, BCL2, CCND1, CREBBP, ETV6, FGFR1, and more.
Who Should Consider This Test
This test is recommended for individuals who exhibit symptoms of leukemia or have risk factors, including:
- Unexplained fatigue
- Frequent infections
- Easy bruising or bleeding
- Family history of blood disorders
Consultation with a hematologist or oncologist is essential for those considering this test.
Benefits of Taking the Test
- Identifies specific genetic mutations that guide treatment options.
- Aids in the early detection of AML, improving prognosis.
- Provides valuable information for personalized medicine approaches.
- Facilitates better monitoring of disease progression and treatment response.
Understanding Your Results
Results from the Oncomine AML Panel will provide insights into the genetic profile of the leukemia, which can inform treatment decisions. It is crucial to discuss results with your healthcare provider to understand implications and next steps.
