Sample Collection Instructions
For accurate results, the following sample collection instructions must be followed:
- Sample Type: 4 mL (2.5 mL min.) serum from 1 SST and 3 mL whole blood in 1 Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube.
- Mix thoroughly by inversion and transport to the lab within 4 hours.
- If delayed, make PPP within 1 hour of collection by centrifuging the sample at 3600 rpm for 15 min.
- Transfer the supernatant to a clean plastic tube and freeze immediately. DO NOT THAW.
- Overnight fasting is preferred.
- Duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory.
