The sample required for the Somatostatin Plasma Test is 2 ml (1 mL min.) of plasma from a lavender top (EDTA) tube. Blood should be drawn in a prechilled tube, mixed by inversion, and the plasma separated immediately. The sample must be frozen and shipped without thawing. A duly filled Test Send Out Consent Form (Form 35) is mandatory.
