Pre-Test Instructions
For the most accurate results, overnight fasting is preferred. Patients are advised to discontinue Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling, with consent from their treating physician. A duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory.
Turnaround Time
Samples should be collected daily by 9 am, with reports available the same day.
Sample Type
The test requires 3 mL (2 mL min.) serum from 1 SST and 3 mL whole blood in 1 Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube. Proper handling and transport of the sample are crucial for accurate results.
