- 2 mL (0.5 mL minimum) serum from 1 Serum Separator Tube (SST) for each timed specimen. Three tubes are required: baseline, 30 minutes post-ACTH, and 60 minutes post-ACTH.
- Results
- Daily. Confirm with the laboratory before booking.
- Preparation
- Overnight fasting is required before the test. Synthetic ACTH (Synacthen) is not supplied by the laboratory; it must be obtained separately by the ordering physician or facility.
