The Copper Random Urine Test is a vital diagnostic tool used to evaluate copper levels in the body. Copper is an essential trace element necessary for various physiological functions, including iron metabolism and the formation of connective tissue. However, both copper deficiency and excess can lead to significant health issues, making this test crucial for early detection and management of related disorders.
What the Test Measures
This test measures the concentration of copper in a random urine sample, providing insights into the body’s copper metabolism. It helps in diagnosing conditions such as Wilson’s disease, a genetic disorder that leads to copper accumulation in the body, and other metabolic disorders that affect copper levels.
