Factor IX Functional Test
The Factor IX Functional Test is a specialized diagnostic tool used to evaluate the functionality of Factor IX, a crucial protein in the blood coagulation process. This test is significant for diagnosing various bleeding disorders, particularly Hemophilia B, which results from a deficiency in Factor IX. Understanding your Factor IX levels can help in managing and treating coagulation disorders effectively.
What Does the Test Measure?
This test measures the activity level of Factor IX in your blood. A low level of functional Factor IX can lead to prolonged bleeding and other complications associated with coagulation disorders.
Who Should Consider This Test?
Individuals who may benefit from the Factor IX Functional Test include:
- Those experiencing unexplained bleeding or bruising.
- Individuals with a family history of bleeding disorders.
- Patients undergoing pre-surgical evaluations.
Benefits of Taking the Test
