To ensure accurate results, please follow these pre-test instructions:
- Avoid eating seafood, herbal supplements, mineral supplements, vitamin B12, or vitamin B complex, and sea/freshwater fish for at least 3 days prior to specimen collection.
- If gadolinium or iodine-containing contrast media has been administered, do not collect the specimen for 96 hours.
- Collect a 10 mL aliquot of 24-hour urine in the acid-washed (metal-free) container kit provided by our lab.
- Mix thoroughly and transfer the aliquot to the vial provided.
- Measure the 24-hour total volume and record it on the vial and test request form.
- Ship the sample refrigerated or frozen using powderless gloves during specimen collection.
