To ensure accurate results, please follow these pre-test instructions:
- Avoid mineral supplements for 3 days prior to specimen collection.
- If Gadolinium or Iodine containing contrast media has been administered, do not collect the specimen for 96 hours.
- Use powderless gloves during specimen collection.
The sample should be a 10 mL aliquot of 24-hour urine collected in an acid-washed (metal-free) container. Mix thoroughly and transfer the aliquot to the vial provided in the kit. Measure the total 24-hour volume and record it on the vial and test request form. Ship the sample refrigerated or frozen.
