Sample Type: 3 mL (1 mL min.) serum from 1 metal-free White Top (Z-No Additive) tube OR 3 mL (1 mL min.) plasma from 1 metal-free Royal Blue Top (K2EDTA) tube. Samples should be shipped refrigerated or frozen. Patients are advised to avoid sea and freshwater fish for 3 days prior to specimen collection. If Gadolinium or iodine-containing contrast media has been administered, specimen collection should be delayed for 96 hours.
